"Authentication Failed" During AFGE.ORG Registration

During AFGE.ORG registration, your personally identifiable information is requested to verify your identity.  The three most common problems and solutions are below.

Missing / Out-of-Date Address

When using the Social Security Number / Zip Code option, we check against the address on file.  If this address is missing or out-of-date, the lookup may fail.

Solution:  If you know your Member ID, try the Membership ID and Last 4 of SSN registration option.  If you do not know you Member ID, email your Full Name, Last 4 Digits of SSN, and Full Mailing Address to WebHelp@afge.org

Membership Not Yet Added to National System

Most government agencies provide AFGE with electronic membership data each pay period.  If you recently joined, the Agency may not have notified AFGE of your new membership yet.

For agencies that do not provide electronic membership data, such as SSA and DOD, your membership is manually entered online by your Local Officer.

Solution:  Please contact your AFGE Local Officers to verify your membership is entered into our membership records or email WebHelp@afge.org

Data Entry Error

In rare occasion, your Social Security Number or Zip Code may be incorrectly entered into our membership system.

Solution:  Please contact your AFGE Local Officers to verify your membership is entered into our membership records or email WebHelp@afge.org
