How Do You Import Personal Contacts from Outlook?

Use Virtual Office Contacts to display your company and personal contacts. Company contacts are contacts in the AFGE Staff Directory; they are automatically imported from Microsoft Outlook. You can also access two types of personal contacts: contacts you create in 8x8 Virtual Office and contacts you create in Microsoft Outlook.

How do I enable Virtual Office Contacts?

Click the Settings button on the toolbar (Online App) or the settings icon in the lower left corner of the Desktop App. (Alternatively, select Virtual Office >Settings from the Virtual Office desktop app menu.)

Select Contacts from the menu on the left side of the window.

Import Contacts from Microsoft Exchange

If you create a personal contact in 8x8 Virtual Office, the contact's information is only available in the app in which you created it. However, you can create a personal contact in Microsoft Outlook (Exchange) and import the contact's information into 8x8 Virtual Office. That will allow you to access personal contacts in all of the 8x8 Virtual Office applications you use.

To configure Microsoft Exchange contacts:

  1. Click the Settings button on the toolbar (Online App) or the settings icon in the lower left corner of the Desktop App. (Alternatively, select Virtual Office >Settings from the Virtual Office desktop app menu.)
  2. Go to Contacts.
  3. Check the Company and/or Personal checkboxes under Microsoft Exchange/Office 365.

When you create a contact in Outlook and set up 8x8 to import personal contacts, they appear in 8x8 as Exchange Personal, as shown below:
